Friday, January 8th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.
A man asked God how long a million years was to Him. God replied, “It’s just like a single second of your time, my child.” So the man asked, “And what about a million dollars?” The Lord replied, “To me, it’s just like a single penny.” So the man gathered himself up and asked, “Well, Lord, could I have one of your pennies?” And God said, “Certainly, my child, just a second.”
Such an account kind of puts our problems and desires into perspective when we think what man struggles for here on earth (gold) is paving material in heaven.
Think of the magnificence as we read the description in the Revelation 21:21-23:
“The street of the city was pure gold as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
"God, help me keep the proper perspective of the things here on earth.
Amen."
Let God be God.
