The news story that isn't a national story now for some reason...

...wonder why?

ARKANSAS LEGION HONORS MURDERED SOLDIER
Thursday, June 11, 2009

A bell tolled in Little Rock last week at a public ceremony that honored the memory of Pvt. William Andrew Long, gunned down June 1 by confessed murderer Abdulhakin Muhammed. Another Army soldier, Quinton Ezeagwula, was also injured in the shooting.

The service for Long was organized by The American Legion’s Department of Arkansas and held downtown at M.M. Eberts Post 1. Many people stopped by during the four-hour ceremony to sign a condolence book and listen to the tolling of a bell that is a replica of the original Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

Long, 23, was buried June 8 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Little Rock. His family has requested that donations be made in their son’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
