Today is Thursday, Passover day.
The Lamb had been slain and the blood brushed over the door posts.
This was Christ's first day spent in the grave.
Yesterday, the preparation day for the Passover, was the day of Christ's death, Christ was the Passover sacrifice... now a word about "sacrifice" and "worship."
In the Old Covenant, they are one and the same. For example, when Abraham said he and his son were going up on the mountain to "worship" God, what Abraham meant was that he was going to go offer to God a sacrifice, something was going to die, blood was going to be shed.
That was worship... the shedding of blood.
What few ever realize nor comprehend is that Calvary, the sacrifice of God's Only Begotten, is THE PREEMINENT WORSHIP SERVICE OF ALL TIME AND ETERNITY.
Christ on the cross, laying down His life for creation as a result of Man's fall... this is... that was... the single signature worship service.
Perhaps we can now understand better the often confusing statement by Paul to the Romans...
Contemplate this day on Christ's worship of, sacrifice to, Holy God.

Rom 12:1 "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship."

Worship and service are synonyms!
You've got it!
That is exactly why Paul could say to servants to do their service as to the Lord and not for man... as man pleasers.
