Yahweh, Day 26

Day 26 Yahweh ... a Warrior promoting ... JUSTICE

Justice has a unique focus in Yahweh's requirements for humankind... a focus that is often not perceived by many. We get a pretty good indication of what Justice is to Yahweh in the Torah...

Deuteronomy 10:18 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
"He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreign resident, giving him food and clothing."

When most humans think of "justice" they will think of executing judgment against a law breaker.

However... the majority of times Yahweh speaks of "Justice" it is in reference to making sure we care for those unable to care for themselves... and to help the hurting and wounded.

Most of the time when we find Yahweh's indignation being spewed upon Israel... it was the result of them having perverted justice... taking advantage of... the least of these.
Yahweh is a warrior.

Why will Yahweh go to battle over justice? It is because Yahweh actually... cares. How much does He care... why does He care? Prepare and steady your self, friend, for this we see in our Great High Priest, Jesus, in Hebrews 4:15...

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin."

The key quality here is that our High Priest is able to sympathize with our weaknesses ... the Greek word here ... 'sumpatheō' ... means very simply, succinctly, and marvelously ... to feel another person's pain. Don't miss this ... to literally FEEL another's pain.

Only Jesus can say this. You and I will never actually FEEL another's pain. We may relate to it ... have experienced similar, etc ... but only Jesus feels it.

Every time the weak, wounded, least able ... are offended by those who should before Yahweh, care for, defend, and protect them ... Yahweh ... feels their offense.

This is why the Psalmist declared in 45:4 ... that Yahweh will indeed "ride triumphantly in the cause of truth, humility, and justice."

Intercessory Prayer: Oh Father! You feel the offenses of the least of these! Oh God! For Your sake, open our eyes to see how You see, to feel like You feel, to hurt like You hurt, to care like You care! In Jesus Name. Amen.
