Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill

“There is no greater sign of a general decay of virtue in a nation, than a want of zeal in its inhabitants for the good of their country.” (Joseph Addison)

I am afraid as a country we have reached that place. Instead of being excited for what we can do for our country we have raised a country of dependents whose zeal is for, ‘What can I get for me?’ This is primarily because we have lost sight of who God is and elevated men to the level of deities.  We must dethrone self and restore God to His rightful place.  The writer of Deuteronomy 10:20 says, “Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.”

God, Let us return to being a nation that honors You as Lord.  Amen.
