Yahweh...

The Glorious Name


... And another word... about the Glorious Name, Yahweh.

Deuteronomy 28:58-59
"If you are not careful to obey all the words of this law, which are written in this scroll, by fearing this glorious and awesome name-Yahweh, your God..."
(Holman Christian Standard Bible)

The Hebrew word translated "Glorious" is actually a participle... a participle that simply means... weighty.

Think about this for a moment... the glorious Name, Yahweh, is weighty.

The Psalmist has this in mind as he states:

Psalm 72:19
"May His glorious name be praised forever; the whole earth is filled with His glory. Amen and amen." (HCSB)

We might think of this "weighty glorious Name" from the idea of great influence... as when someone talks... people listen.

Have you yet learned to see the manifested, Glorious Name of Yahweh?

The whole earth is filled with it's weighty glory.
