The Chaplain's Corner

Chaplain Paul is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

“Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

This week we participated in a drill that simulated an act of terrorism at our Nuclear Power Plant here in Russellville. At the command center we had the heads of all emergency agencies in the area. It was very realistic and everyone took it very seriously because we all know that we need to be prepared.

I also remember that “Be Prepared” was our Boy Scout motto. It’s a good idea to be prepared. As a Chaplain I’m prepared for all types of emergencies. In my vehicles I have lots of items that I use in emergencies.

The government tells us to have emergency supplies and a plan ready, just in case. I think all of that is very good, and I recommend that you go to: www.ready.gov for lots of help with preparing for disasters.

But what about eternal preparedness? What plans are you making for the biggest event in human history – the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ? Will that be a catastrophe, or a celebration for you? It depends on whether or not you’re ready!

Matthew 24:44 says, ‘Always be ready! You don't know when the Lord will come.’ You might want to read that entire section; there is a lot of good info there about emergency preparedness. How do you get ready? Jesus. He’s all you need in your eternal emergency preparedness kit.

That’s something to think about, isn’t it?
