"Beware of allowing the discernment of wrong in another to blind you to the fact that you are what you are by the grace of God." (Oswald Chambers)It is easy to look around at a world gone awry and point out the imperfections and failures of the inhabitants. When we are tempted to become smug and arrogant, let us ask ourselves the question, “Who died and left me in charge?” We must understand we are as susceptible to wrong acting and thinking as anyone else, but it is only by the grace of God that we are in our right mind and can control ourselves.
Luke 6:41 gives us this good advice:
“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”
"God, grant me the wisdom to see Your hand of correction and protection in my life. Give me the tolerance to remain silent when tempted to gossip or point out another’s fault. Help me understand that except for the grace of God, that would be me. In the name of Jesus, amen."Jesus died for you; Will you live for Him?
