Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“The mind grows by what it feeds on.”—J. G. Holland

We have found that many of the fruits and vegetables we eat do not have the nutritional value they once had. From the depletion of the nutrients in the soil to the chemicals to make them grow faster to genetic engineering to produce more and larger fruit the product is not as good for you as it was in grandma’s day.

Similarly, we find the diet of the mind has eroded to a great degree. Newspapers don’t give you the good news for the most part. Television for the most part uses the credo “If it bleeds it leads” in formatting their news. Even what is called ‘entertainment’ no longer has a good moral to the story. In fact morals seldom have anything to do with today’s television, good moral values that is.

We must get back to Biblical principals as recorded by Paul in Philippians 4:8,
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.”
Just imagine what that diet would do to your mind.

Praise God today as He has so blessed you.
