Oh God...

May our new President seek your wisdom
above all else.

As King Solomon listened...
may President Obama hear
the cry of the conceived...
and the mother's heart.

As King David sought reconciliation...
may President Obama seek genuine reconciliation.
As he said...
May the raised and clenched fist
be lowered with open palm...
and taken.

As King David was valiant in battle...
may the giants that taunt our nation
fall like dead wood.
May he come against them in the name
of the God of Israel.

Oh God...

Grab this man's heart indeed.
Reveal to him that which is truly good...
in this nation...
and enable him to praise the same.

Shake this man's mind indeed.
Expose to him that which is truly evil...
in this nation...
and empower him to raze the same.

Oh God...

Give him the words that can
inspire our land
to live each the one...
by the sweat of their own brow
and the ingenuity of their endowed gifts.

As the dearly loved disciple
leaned upon your dear breast...
may this man learn to rest...there.

Teach him to hear your faintest breath...
to grasp your cherished thoughts...
to drink deep your cup of delights.

Hold him.
Protect him.
Nurture him.
Mold him.
Love him.

You breathed into his soul
the breath of life.
He is yours.
I lay him at your gracious throne.

It is for your glory I pray...alone.
