Monday, August 9th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

Socrates, that great father of philosophy, advised young men to carry a mirror. If they were good looking, they should remind themselves that an ugly life was out of keeping with good looks. If their appearance was not attractive, they were told to remember that handsome actions offset ugly looks.

A wise person from my past used to say, “Pretty is as pretty does.” Forrest Gump’s mama always used to say, “Stupid is as stupid does.” No matter how lacking we have been, we can rejoice as Children of God by taking to heart the words of the writer of 2 Corinthians 5:17:
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

"God, thank You for making me new.
Amen."
